ABOUT

Eat where the internet is eating — with a score you can actually trust.

TrendBites tracks restaurants that are blowing up on YouTube right now. Every spot on our trending feed appeared in a recent, genuinely viral video from a food creator — and instead of showing you a star rating from anonymous strangers, we show you a Creator Score: an AI analysis of what the creator actually said about the food.

Why not just use likes?

Because likes measure entertainment, not food. A video titled "The WORST restaurant in Los Angeles?!" can rack up two million likes while the creator spits the food into a napkin. Traditional review sites have the opposite problem: walls of anonymous text reviews, outdated photos, and one-star tantrums about parking. We built TrendBites to cut through both.

How the Creator Score works

  1. Discovery. We continuously monitor YouTube for food videos that are genuinely trending — recent uploads with view counts in the hundreds of thousands or millions.
  2. Listening. Our AI reads the video's transcript and description and identifies every restaurant the creator personally visited — not places mentioned in passing, not sponsors, not home cooking.
  3. Scoring. The AI scores the creator's actual verdict on the food from 0 to 100. "Best al pastor of my life" scores high. "Great vibes, mid tacos" scores in the middle. Entertainment value, thumbnail drama, and like counts are deliberately ignored.
  4. Verification. Each restaurant is matched to its verified Google Places listing, so you get the real address, the real map pin, and never the wrong Joe's Pizza.
  5. Corroboration. When multiple creators independently rave about the same spot, the score gets a small boost — one viral video is a moment; three is a pattern.

What you can do here

Browse the live trending feed of restaurants across the United States, filter by city, search by dish ("birria", "soup dumplings", "smash burger"), watch the actual video moments, and jump straight to directions. We're US-only for now — more countries as we grow. No account, no app install required — though an Android app is on the way.

What TrendBites is not

We're not a review site and we don't accept payment from restaurants for placement or scores. Every restaurant on TrendBites earned its spot the same way: a creator's video about it went viral, and the creator liked the food. Videos remain the property of their creators and are embedded through YouTube's official player, which links back to the original channel.

Who's behind this
