This video makes Fonty’s feel like a New York sandwich shop with a very personal South Asian point of view. The owners call the food “Indian-ish” because they are mixing the flavors they grew up with and the deli sandwiches they ate around the city. The star is the Naanini, their version of a panini, and the line outside suggests people have definitely noticed it.

The chicken tikka version layers house-made chicken, creamy tomato sauce, and pickled onions, so each bite moves from tangy and smoky to rich. They even use a touch of fenugreek to mimic some of the tandoor flavor while cooking the chicken in an oven. There are also Kerala beef and chana masala Naaninis, plus a Bombay sandwich for vegetarians.

One especially thoughtful detail is the bread: a Korean bakery makes it specifically for Fonty’s. The creator hates waiting-in-line culture, but says this is one of the rare lines that actually feels worth it.
